A Certain Lady - Dorothy Parker

Oh, I can smile for you, and tilt my head
All of you memories keep me near
And drink your words with eager lips
Hold it in, it get's worse, let's drink up
And paint my mouth for you a fragrent red
And trace your brows with tutored finger tips
I'm going all the way
When you release your list of loves to me
My colours fade to gray
Oh, I can laugh back and marvel, raptouros-eyed
And you laugh back, nor can you ever see
I'm the one you left behind     I know i can find the fire in your eyes
The thousand little deaths my heart has died
My senses about to break, this will all be over soon
And you believe so well, I know my part
I would changes my ways
That I'm gay as morning, light as snow
And all the straining things within my heart
Don't wanna waist my time
When all the violins play the saddest songs
You'll never know
I still try to find my place
Cause I will be the death of you
Oh, I can laugh and listen, when we meet,
And you bring tales of freash adventurings, --
I don´t believe you
Of ladies delicately in discreet,
Of lingering hands, and gentely whispered things.
With arms wide open
And you are pleased with me, and strive a new
To sing me sagas of your late delights.
Standing at the gates of dawn
Thus do you want me, marveling gay, in my head, and true
I'm not a perfect person
Nor do you see my staring eyes of night,
And when in search of novelty, your stray,
Oh, I can kiss you blithely as you go...
Realize I'm fading. Is it over yet?
And what goes on, my love, while you're away,
You'll never know
Cause I will be the death of you
